An online book launch is taking place on August 25 at 1pm EDT for the recently published ‘Furnace and Fugue: A Digital Edition of Michael Maier’s “Atalanta fugiens” (1618) with Scholarly Commentary’.

This open-acess digital book was co-edited by Donna Bilak and Tara Nummedal, and was just published with the University of Virginia Press as part of their Studies in Early Modern German History series.

On August 25th, a conversation with the creators will take place and they will give a tour of the book, talk a bit about its contributions to the study of early modern European science, music, art, and print culture, and consider its possibilities for research, teaching, performance, and digital publishing.
